Actor and film producer Aamir Khan has been appointed as an ambassador for UNICEF in South Asia, and is to support the charity's mission to ensure that every child in India has the right nutrition in a bid to end stunting across the country.

Khan commented 'I am honoured to formalise my association with UNICEF as their ambassador to help raise awareness on the issue of malnutrition among children. I realise there is a lot to be done and I hope that by lending my voice, I can make a difference to the lives of children and hereby to the future of our country'.
